WE’RE HIRING

We’re looking for an excellent, project-basis Graphic Designer to join our team and help elevate the branding, visual coherence and social media presence of our online coaching business. If you are a well-organized, established graphic designer, with experience designing for print and social media, read on to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

the BECOMING is an online educational platform for artists. Founded in 2015, we bring together contemporary art, spirituality, personal development, and practical money-making strategies to help artists around the globe create the kind of world they want to live in.

We believe that art is an act of Becoming and has the power to transform ourselves, our communities and the way we engage with the world around us.

Our tribe includes self-taught and formally trained artists who struggle to get their art out of their studios or find a foothold in the art world. These artists have experienced the healing power of creativity in their own lives and are on a mission to bring their art, healing and transformation to others.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a project-basis position. We've recently done an audit of our brand and visual assets and are looking to both update and create more consistency within the visual aspect of our brand. Your job will be to work within our brand guidelines to make sure assets reflect our branding and update existing assets where needed, and as requested… As well as to design and develop new visual assets.

For this role, you’ll need to be sensitive to the work our lead designer has done and be able to offer creative new solutions. On occasion, during busier seasons and program launches, we would ask you to work additional hours, and some assignments would require a fast turnaround - within 72 hours or less. It wouldn't happen often and we'll always give as much notice as possible. But the occasional quick turnaround would be needed.

MISSION

The mission of this position is to help scale our business to multiple 7-figures and beyond by letting our tribe of artists know how our approach to professional development is unlike anything else on the market. Aesthetics matter. If it doesn’t look good, feel right, or speak directly to our people, we don’t use it. Our Graphic Designer will be a key asset by ensuring that every visual touchpoint sends a clear message to our audience.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE/BE THE FOLLOWING:

  • The ability to follow a brief but also be creative.

  • Willing to be more and less creative depending on the task and asset.

  • A sensitivity to the type of content being produced (artwork) and the artists we represent and what they bring to the world.

  • An interest in fine art and an understanding of how to prepare and present artwork online.

  • The ability to flex with our launch schedules and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Occasionally willing and able to create new assets with a short turnaround time.

  • Happy to support others who are up to big things.

  • Stable in your own life.

  • No time for drama.

  • In touch with, and delighted by how messy and paradoxical it is to be human.

  • A self-starter by nature. Google is your friend.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE ALIGNED WITH OUR CORE VALUES:

  1. BE EXACTING - We have high standards and strive to meet them. We use our time, energy and resources well. We don’t waste ours or anyone else’s. We are precise and punctual. We have clear boundaries and honour them. We do what we say we’ll do…. And are compassionate and transparent if we can’t.

  2. BE RESOURCEFUL - We create every aspect of our lives. We work with ‘what is’ and alchemize it into the lives and careers we love. We figure things out as we go… Access our inner MacGyvers, and do what it takes. We come up with brilliant solutions, ask, try, slip and fall, and defy conventions until we get where we want to go.

  3. BE HONEST - We take full responsibility for our own experience, say the hard things, speak the truth and communicate clearly. We ask for what we need and start by asking ourselves, “If I had it all my way…”

  4. BE IN YOUR BECOMING: We live at the edge of our comfort zones… And let our desires lead us into unknown territory. We pay close attention to ourselves, where we’ve been and want to be. We get where we want to go because we decided to be there. We understand the creative process and trust its magic. Labour pains, resistance and deep inner work are all a part of it.
